What is constant flow? What is called constant current power sup

AddTime:2017-04-21 13:40:03

Constant current can also be called steady flow. The meaning is similar, and can not be distinguished in general. Compared with the constant pressure concept, concept of constant flow is difficult to understand, because of the constant voltage source in daily life is rare, battery, dry battery is a constant voltage DC power supply, 220V alternating current, can be considered an AC constant voltage power supply, because the output voltage are basically unchanged, it is not a change with the size of the output current.
First, for example, a constant current value to 1A, a constant current power supply output voltage up to 100V, when you open the constant current source power switch, you will see the voltage meter and ammeter power display what numerical? Be sure that the output voltage is 100V, output current 0A. Someone once asked, you are not a constant current source 100V1A? How output is 100V1A? Here still want to use Ohm's law to explain theoretically this calculation, the output voltage of the power supply U=IR, where U is the output voltage, I output current, R load resistance.
The following 5 cases are explained:
1. if the power supply for the load, R can be said to U=I* with infinite infinity, because the current power supply can lose 1A, if the power supply current is 1A, then U=1A* = - infinity, and the power supply voltage maximum output 100V, the maximum output power is only due to a power supply voltage 100V, output voltage can not be infinite, so the current is only a very small value, i.e. the current output of 0A, which is I=U/R=100V/ ~ =0A.
2. if the load resistor R=200 ohm, then because the power supply can only output 100V, so the current can only be 0.5A, or I=U/R=100V/200R=0.5A
3., if the load resistance R=100 ou, because the power supply can output 100V, so that the current can reach 1A, or I=U/R=100V/100R=1A, at this time the output current just reached the constant current value of the power supply.
4. if the load resistance continues to decrease, to 50 in Europe, if according to the formula of I=U/R=100V/50R=2A. but the key here is our power supply is a constant current value of 1A power, so the output current only at this time was forced to limit in 1A but not for 2A, so the output voltage will be forced to drop to 50V instead of 100V. It's still consistent with Ohm's law, that is, U=IR=1A*50R=50V
5. if the load resistance becomes 0 euro (i.e. short circuit), then the output voltage is only 0V, or U=I*R=1A*0R=0V, because the output current is only 1A
From the above 5 examples can be seen, if the load resistance is too large, so that the output current of the power source can not reach the value of the constant current, the output voltage of the constant current source will then automatically rise to the maximum output voltage of the power supply, only when the load resistance is small to a certain extent, the power output current up to the value of the constant current power supply, really in the work of the state of constant current, with the load resistance value gradually decreases, the output voltage is decreased according to the law, to maintain a constant output current. This is the concept of constant flow.
In a word, in fact it is a constant voltage power supply, or constant current power supply, they are essentially identical, their outputs are voltage and current, the amount of two, an amount of power can only control the voltage or current or stabilize, stabilize, another quantity must be determined by the load resistance however, the load resistance is determined by the user, and two output power, there must be a decision by the user, which can meet the logical, Ohm's law, can be used for users, no so-called can given the output voltage and output current of the power supply is given.
